What are some tips when batting to not drop your shoulders?
Okay so basically you're gonna have to work your off to stop dropping your shoulders. I wish I could see your swing and then my answer wouldn't be so broad. Your hands are literally supposed to go straight down to the ball. In forward motion, not like a retard, but still going straight down to the ball. Go onto youtube and search any major league baseball player and watch his swing. take notes of everything he does. then get a mirror, and try to copy his mechanics in the mirror. work off the tee constantly. TONS of reps is the only way to break habits. don't go to the cages or anything like that. just keep working off the tee. Oh, and I saw two people say keep your back elbow up.... Forget it. That's a lot of crap. I can name soooooo many amazing players who keep there elbows relaxed and towards the ground. Prince Fielder is a prime example. Your stance doesn't matter, it's the mechanics that follow that makes the difference between a hit and groundout.
