How do I support my boyfriend when I really want to say "I told you so"?

He's an NCAA athlete, which means he can get called in for random drug testing. After not smoking for 2 years, he took one hit last weekend, then got tested the following Tuesday and failed, putting his scholarship and athletic career in jeopardy. He wants me to be sympathetic but I'm pretty pissed, considering I'm trying really hard to earn enough money to pay tuition in the first place, and he basically decided that partying was more important then everything he had handed to him. And he knows how much i hate drugs. All I can think of to say to him is that he has to face the consequences of his actions...but maybe I should be nicer? What an idiot.
