SLip and fell on ice in a parking lot at a store.?

Hello everyone i need some advice. on a snowy day i had to pick my daughter up from school and i walked thru the parking lot of a store, abd the parking lot had a sheet of black Ice and i fell flat on my but my feet slipped right at the exact same time and i fell DOWN on my . 'It hurt so bad,. i went to the store barely and told them they made a report and then i went to my docotr i been in physical therapy and been on pain meds i called the store to see where do i send the dr bills and they hadnt called back, it has been weeks i spoke directly to the manager and told him my name he said he will have to have the ins. call me. What do i do. should i get a lawyer? but i heard i have to pay a lawyer can i do this stuff myself is there a place on the internet to help me to understand how to talk to the insurance company, what to ask for and what to say? help thanks everyone.
