How do I make the Javascript background color stay?

Ok, I have a forum that has a Javascript Background color changer on it (where users can pick what color of background they want). But whenever they pick a background, then go to a differnt page, they have to pick the background all over again. Is there anyway to keep the background how the user picks it?
