What are your views concerning the "War on Terrorism" in Iraq and Afghanistan ?

I personally believe that the USA presents in Iraq and Afghanistan is not needed. Iraq and Afghanistan are in a period civil war. The stated purpose of the invasion in Afghanistan was to capture Osama bin Laden, destroy al-Qaeda, and remove the Taliban regime which had provided support and safe harbor to al-Qaeda (We removed the Taliban). Osama bin Laden is no where to be found, but he's dropping more mixtapes than Chamillionaire. The purpose for invading Iraq was that they were actively developing weapons of m destruction (We have found NO evidence). We succeeded in overthrowing Saddem Hussein. I have family members that are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan they have never questioned their mission or our president, but I just don't understand....Both countries are in a period of civil war with Extremist Shiites.....Why are we still fight a war that is basically unwinning?
