Is there a way I can exercise enough to tone up without putting my pregnancy in jeopardy?

I am about 1 - 2 months pregnant and I am out of shape and overweight. When I get pregnant I get fat. I want to do all I can to prevent as much as possible. I know I have to eat healthy foods. What else can I do?
