Why do Republicans claim that public approval ratings don't matter?

The house is overwhelmingly dem and they are the most worthless branch of Congress. I realize it has a lot to do with Pelosi being such a worthless leader but the rest of the dems walk in lockstep with the fool from San Fran. When you have Congress running around trying their best to undermind the President at every turn people are going to be pissed.
