To tell you the truth it does make you seem desperate. You guys had a convo but he didnt know who you were. You told him it was you all along and he didnt respond. I would of left it there. He basically ignored you at prom but you followed and tried to get his attention again. I know you dont want to come off as a bother but doing these things will bother someone especially if they dont really know you. I say dont know you because its true. You dont talk or anything. Most likely he had that convo with you just to make you feel comfortable enough for you to tell him who yiu were in the fake fb.
